INDECT participated in EUROPOLTECH 2011, the International Fair of Technology and Equipment for the Police and National Security Services which took place on April 13–15, 2011.
All major manufacturers of modern equipment and world-class system solutions for police services were present at the Fair and the Conference. A number of security related business companies from countries such as Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom were present at the event. Among the distinguished speakers were Jerzy Buzek, the President of the European Parliament; Khoen Liem, EU Enterprise and Industry Directorate General; Krzysztof Kurzydłowski, Director of the Polish National Centre for Research and Development; Allan Pratt, Director of the Science, Engineering and Technology UK Home Office; Thorsten Fischer, Representative of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany; Dimitar Zdravkov Georgiev, Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Interior. The Main project work groups were represented at the Fair. Additionally, Professor Andrzej Dziech, INDECT Coordinator gave a presentation at the Police Conference “Science and Innovation vs. the Security System”.
The event was accompanied by the 5th International Police Conference, “Science and Innovation vs. the Security System” which was attended by executive staff from European police services.

EUROPOLTECH was organized in close partnership with the General Headquarters of the Polish Police and police departments from EU countries.

The main objective of the Fair is to support technological upgrade processes in the Police services (including the Polish Police), Special Operations Command and national/international security services.
Europoltech 2011 also addressed the supply of equipment and auxiliary technologies for tasks related to public security.

Participation in EUROPOLTECH 2011 was a very good opportunity to present INDECT prototypes and information about the expected final results involving live CCTV video streaming quality evaluation and control as well as the application of new watermarking technology methods for reversible data and privacy protection in monitoring systems.
The main project work groups were represented at the Fair. Additionally, Professor Andrzej Dziech, INDECT Coordinator had a presentation at the Police Conference “Science and Innovation vs. the Security System”. The presentation focused on the scope, current state and expected outcomes of the project.
The presentation was received with interest from potential end-users of INDECT tools.
A number of contacts were established with industry representatives and other research teams working in areas relevant to the scope of INDECT.
