[fightersandlovers.org] Today the entrepreneurs behind the clothing company Fighters+Lovers
has been convicted for supporting terror. There crime was to sell
fancy T-shirts as a solidarity project. The indicted hot dog vendor
and show room manager was acquitted.
"Apparently T-shirts has become terrorism. The sentence demonstrates
that the terror-legislation doesn’t work" says a surprised Bobby
Schultz, PR-responsible for Fighters+Lovers. But he is happy on behalf
of the acquitted hot dog vendor and show room manager Preben
Mikkelsen.
Bobby Schultz continues: "The judges haven’t been able to resist the
political pressure. The decision is an attempt to compromise. By
convicting some the judges seek to satisfy the politicians and by
acquitting one they seek to satisfy the public."
The acquitted show room manager and hot dog vendor Preben Mikkelsen:
"I’m outraged that my friends have been convicted for supporting
terror! I still support Fighters+Lovers and they can use my hot dog
stand for anything any time."
However the convicted activists in the T-shirt Trial are optimistic.
They refer to the acquittal in the Municipal Court of Copenhagen and
underline that a negative sentence in High court does not
automatically mean that liberation struggle equals terrorism.
"We will continue undaunted. Nelson Mandela was 90 years old when he
was removed from USA’s terror list. FARC and PFLP has to wait a few
more years to be removed from EU’s", says Michael Schoelardt, manager
director of Fighters+Lovers. "We have plenty of time to carry on.
Fighters+Lovers has more projects at hand."
