6th ministerial conference on border security cooperation in South-East
Europe will be held in Belgrade on March 5-6, the Serbian Interior
Ministry said in a statement, reports Tanjug news agency.
The statement said that the interior ministers of Serbia, Albania,
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, FYRMacedonia, Montenegro and EU
member-states – Italy, Slovenia and the Czech Republic – will discuss
the realisation of key goals determined under the Ministerial
Declaration of 2006.
The delegations will present reports on the achieved in the field of
integrated border management in 2008 and discuss the implementation of
strategies in the 2009-2011 period.
During the introductory session, the participants will be addressed
by Serbian President Boris Tadic, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic,
Director of the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed
Forces (DCAF) Ambassador Theodor H. Winkler and Interior Minister Ivica
Dacic of Serbia and Ivan Langer of the Czech Republic.
Representatives of the EU Agency FRONTEX, European Commission,
Stability Pact, OSCE, PAMECA, IOM and representatives of the EU
delegations and OSCE missions from the countries of the region will
also take part in the conference.
On the second day of the conference, on Friday, March 6, the
interior ministers of Serbia, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, FYRMacedonia
and Montenegro will sign the ministerial declaration, bilateral
agreements and the annual plan for 2009.
The conference is organised by the Serbian Interior Ministry and DCAF, the statement said.
