Effective achievement of the Stockholm Programme goals as the main challenge
Considering the existing development of the area of freedom, security and justice, the Presidency will focus its efforts on the effective implementation of initiatives of fundamental importance for the implementation of the Stockholm Programme. The Presidency will engage in activities aimed at further implementing and developing mechanisms protecting citizens and facilitating their access to justice. The Presidency’s actions will also be focused on improving management in the Schengen area, initiatives addressing border management, the establishment of new migration and asylum policy instruments, and enhancing cooperation mechanisms for fighting organised crime. Special attention will be paid to streamlining civil protection mechanisms and measures aimed at further development of the internal security concept. (pdf at pl2011.eu)
