Opening Frontex Partnership Academy at Schiphol Airport (NL)

On 17th of March 2011 the Border Security Training Centre was opened at the Royal Military Police at Schiphol Airport. This training institute provides courses and training in the field of border security for staff working in the border area of the Netherlands or elsewhere in the Schengen area.

The training of the Border Security Training Centre (BSTC), part of the Dutch National Training and Research Centre Royal Military Police (LOKKmar), is suitable not only for police and military but also to (inter) national chain partners including members of the Agency for European border guard organizations (Frontex), staff of the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND), National Road Transport (RDW), Police, Customs and the Dutch Forensic Institute (NFI).

The BSTC is a Frontex Partnership Academy. The partnership Academies are responsible for the education and training of Frontex. The Partnership Academies are working closely together in developing, evaluating and providing training in accordance with EU directives.
