EUPOL COPPS: Palestinian Officers Conclude Workshop on Police Reporting

Eighteen senior Palestinian police officers have concluded a two-day workshop in Ramallah to enhance their know-how on police reporting through a centralized a criminal database, Monday said an EUPOL COPPS press release.

The aim of the workshop, attended by heads of Investigation Sections and Criminal Investigation Department representing all West Bank districts, is to improve police reporting skills and data processing to ensure more effective and coordinated ways of criminal data gathering and analysis.

The course also focused on explaining more effective and efficient use of collected data and a centralized database in the Palestinian Civil Police (PCP). Improved ways of data analysis shall lay the foundation of for developing an intelligence-led policing within the Palestinian Civil Police.

Head of CID, Colonel Ibrahim ABU EIN and Head of EUPOL COPPS, Henrik MALMQUIST attended the workshop, which was funded by Technical Assistance and Information Exchange instrument managed by the Directorate-General Enlargement of the European Commission (TAIEX).

Colonel ABU EIN gave an input on the CID HQ strategic point of view on the topics discussed during the workshop and on their impact on the actual and future structure of the Criminal Investigation Department of PCP.
